I thought this book was pretty good- it definitely picked up more in the second half for me. I had a bit of a hard time getting into it at the beginning. The Cherokee spirit thing didn't really draw me in, but when I learned about the special talents I understood why it was explained so much.

Cast had me hooked from the get go with this book. As soon as Zoey is marked in her high school corridor I sat up and was intrigued. Cast and daughter have teamed up to create an interesting series with a nice array of characters, an intriguing setting for a school and community of vampires, and enough action to hold any reader's attention.
