I think the first time I read this book that I didn't really get the full brilliance of Singh's vision. But later readings have shown how powerful a character Faith Nightstar is and her passion and romance with Vaungh are therefore much stronger and more intruiging. Their need for each other overcomes so many obstacles and the way in which she relates to Dorrian, Clay and Judd is very interesting. I especially liked her interaction and meeting with Judd.
