This was a re-read for me in anticipation of the next novels coming out. It's been 7 years since I read it the first time and it might as well have been my first time since I remembered...well, not a lot! LOL

The Dresden files is one of my favorite series when I was reading them. I enjoyed Harry's antics, quirks, sarcasm, and the whole cast of characters and being he deals with.

Having said that, I enjoyed this listen to it, the narrator is very good but I wonder if I enjoyed the reading of it bet ...more

It seems to me that every time that Nichodemus is involved, the book is not so much to my liking. Plus there was no Molly, which is also a pity. I liked the plot and the pace, but I was waiting for something more substantial, anyway what worries me now, is that I have to wait till July for my next Dresden fix....

"We had already been standing on some fairly shifty moral ground, and it was getting muckier as we went forward." The Dresden Files pit good against evil but it is not always clear which is what. Harry often has to make choices in very grey areas. And sometimes good people get hurt and even die. In this episode, because of previous commitments, Harry is helping an evil being steal the Holy Grail from Hades with a group of beings with unknown loyalties. I don't normally write reviews, and really, this won't be one, but I have to say that The Dresden Files have become my favourite series to read. They've gotten better and better as they've gone on, and each one has had a twist that you never see coming. Can't wait for more Harry. ...more

I love these books. They're not high literature--they are ear candy. But what lovely ear candy they are. James Marsters is a perfect narrator as usual. This series builds on itself, so no point reviewing book 15 in detail. By now, you're either sold on this series or you aren't. If you like the series, this book does not disappoint.
