Below is my review when I read this in 2014. It still stands true as an audiobook.

I learned of this book a while back, I think EW or a blog I was reading. The premise intrigued me, supermen and women who weren't exactly superheroes. Just because one has extraordinary powers doesn't mean one is going to use those powers for good. In the hands of most here, the powers are used for self-aggrandizement and power-trips.
This is about the little guy going against the big bullies of the world ...more

2019: Loved it all over again. Sanderson is a master storyteller!!
Every time I read one of Brandon Sanderson's books, I am freakishly amazed at his imagination. "Steelheart" blew my mind away. This is the first in a sci-fi series that completely dissects how super heroes came to be in existence (in our imaginations of course.) It is exciting and intense from the very first page. I loved the characters, each and everyone. They made me laugh multiple times. I loved the theme that the Epics/super h ...more
