I didn't love this book the way I had Jurassic Park but that doesn't mean I didn't have a good time reading it. Its premise is that genetic engineering is all kinds of bad news. While I don't agree with that notion, I can see how things that seem far-off, impossible, or too ludicrous right now may become the reality tomorrow! I haven't hated a Crichton book this much since Congo. It wasn't even a novel so much as an extremely loosely connected series of vignettes whose sole seeming purpose was to allow Crichton to express his personal opinions on various ethical aspects of genetic research. Crichton has always had some soapboxing in his books, but it's never been as extensive or ham-handed as this.

It was interesting,but I didn't like how it read or how it was written. I always got the feeling I missed something and would go back.
