My least favorite of the series. I did not like the pacing of the book. It seemed like the author was just constantly repeating herself from book 1, and the story wasn't going anywhere interesting. Then there's a rapid tying up of things at the end that felt forced. By the time I finally reached the conclusion, I really just wanted the book to end, and didn't care that much what happened. There were good aspects and bad aspects to the 3rd volume in the Graveyard Queen series. This one was a bit scarier than the others, which I enjoyed. And several loose ends were tied up in this book.
But I liked Amelia less than in the first two books. She was less assertive, more whiny, and I didn't like that she kept spying on other people and their conversations. ...more
