It's more like 3.5 stars. I am going with my gut here, but as of now I can't really find a reason why I am not giving it more stars. Maybe the voice and tone was a bit off for me, but it's a great book indeed. Filled with geeky things, typography, programming and lots of Google things!

I especially loved the old and the new in the book and how they came together. And that in the end it takes more than technology or a good hacker (or the entire Google employees) to solve an old codex. ...more

Shelves: contem-fic

How much fun is this book! Not what I expected at all.

The geekery is over the top and you just enjoy where this story takes you. I love that so much of this story revolves around the association of a fantasy dragon trilogy.

I love that they go on a quest (I love it, a quest)! It's a grand adventure wrapped in secret societies, books, technology, and pop culture thrown in.

This book made me smile silly :D ...more

Shelves: drama

This was a fun mystery that was part "DaVinci Code", but much lighter and filled with humor. The story is about a secret society that revolves around cracking an ancient code hidden in a manuscript and our young hero who inadvertently stumbles across it while working in a very strange bookstore. He lacks stealth and bravery, but is much more entertaining because of his funny dialogue and insight. This was a very enjoyable read :-) ...more
