There is nothing more fun than a mystery that is entwined in the paranormal. I love getting my two favorite genres in one!

Amelia is a graveyard restorer, also known as the Graveyard Queen. She was working in a graveyard with Detective John Devlin came to ask her about a resent session she did an a graveyard. It seems they found a body that didn't belong in the grave where it was placed and he thought that maybe she might have took a picture of something that could be important.

Amelia can also se

This is the type of book I love to hate. There is a lot in here that is just dumb drivel. I do not need to hear how the dark mysterious handsome gentleman is so mysterious every few pages. Or handsome. Or speaks with a Southern drawl. Really. I got it. The first time. But I kept wanting to find out the ending so I kept reading...furiously. Not super duper scary but I am a wuss so I was a little jumpy after reading it right before bed. The "bad guy" was easy to figure out but there were some pl

Understand that I am way behind on my book reviews. I still have a couple from September to do yet. Time has gotten away from me with visits from fam, shift work, life schtuff in general.

That said, I had to share my thoughts on this outstanding latest book I've read from one of my favorite authors, Amanda Stevens. I've read THE WHISPERING ROOM ( http://iyamvixenbooks.blogspot.com/20...), THE DOLLMAKER

One of the biggest problems for me in this book is that there’s zero comic relief. Nothing funny or even mildly amusing. Not even for the character. She’s always glum. It makes the book depressing. It drags.

I definitely know how different they treat cemeteries in the south. I visited Virginia to meet up with who would eventually become my fiancé and he took me around to see several old gravesites. Unfortunately, Seattle is too new. All of our cemeteries are well-kept, lawns mowed, grav

Amelia restores cemeteries and also sees ghosts. There is a murder and a body is found at the cemetery that Amelia was working at so she has been asked by the Detective to help find the killer. The detective is being haunted and Amelia was taught by her father to never acknowledge ghosts for her own safety. There is a really good murder mystery and a good supernatural mystery. I liked these characters a lot. The story line is very intriguing, enough that it keeps you reading.

Nice mystery, I liked the detective-y parts, and learning about the grave art and traditions. Didn't really enjoy the "romance", it was a bit unnecessary, it wasn't satisfying as a romance, and didnt really add to the story. I liked Amelia, and will read more in this series. ...more
