Listened to the audiobook with my husband during a road trip. I loved it just as much the second time around (his first time). I can't recommend this book enough.

I loved everything about this book! I loved Wade and all his awesomeness. I loved all the subtle humor. I loved all the secondary characters. I loved that it was a fast paced and easy read without huge unnecessary and complicated plot twists. I ...more

An incredibly fun read for me. Adventures within a game. Characters living in a gritty, hopeless world, trying to find an escape in a virtual world. Countless allusions to old school video games, MMORPGs, "virtual life" games like Second Life, as well as tabletope RPGs. Not to mention the 80s, a decade one may love or hate, but never forget if, like me, you've grown up during it.

This was such a great book. I wasn't sure if I would like it since it was a book about video games and the 80s but I totally got sucked in. I really liked all the 80s references and my lack of knowledge was not a hindrance. I even went back and watched War Games. I have not seen Blade Runner but it is definitely on my list. Five stars for a fantastic book. Would make a great movie. ...more
