This was another amazing MIL find. Supernatural SI-7 with plenty of humor and very interesting premise and characters. As an added bonus, the author lists books that influenced his writing, so I have a bunch more books to add to my list!

Definitely recommend if you enjoy police procedural meets thriller meets the supernatural with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

I'm giving this 4 stars because I don't really know what else to do. It's been a long, long time since I finished a book and felt as divided and unkempt as I feel after finishing this one.

On one hand, I absolutely adored Myfanwy and the majority of the other characters (can we PLEASE get more interaction between Myfanwy and Alrich!) and I was thoroughly caught up in the mystery of it all and the writing, oh my lord, the writing. I thought this book was a lot of fun. It was different than other urban fantasy/paranormal books I have read. Bonus points to the author for not feeling the need to have a romantic relationship in this book (not that I am against romantic relationships, but it is a nice change of pace for a lead female character in this genre). I really enjoyed this. Have been in a reading funk lately, always happens this time of the year. This is the first book I have finished in a while. Love the main character, Myfanwy, pronounced like Tiffany, but with an M.
