I didn't know much about this book going into it. I knew it was tagged young adult and dystopia...that's it that's all I knew. So imagine my surprise when see this girl locked up in an asylum. I think ok maybe I'm mistaken. But then I learn of how the world is, how birds are no longer there, how the world is in fact in shambles.

The feel I got over all is a dytopian feeling superhero book. Juliette is like Rogue. We have a guy like Mr. Fantastic, I'm waiting for Wolverine wanna be to make an app

Decent. I enjoyed it for the most part. I thought the author tended to lean towards being OTT every so often. But not bad enough to ruin the book for me. Unfortunately I stumbled across some spoilers from the last book of this series and it sort of turned me off from continuing to book 2. I don't like where the author ends up taking the story so this book is as far as I'll go in this series. ...more

Started slowly, but I could love Adam Kent. There were some plot issues, but I forgive them. I liked Juliette and was jealous that Adam loved her.

There's definitely some YA cliches in here, including some major sexual tension that never goes too far. And y

I don't know what I just read, but it was not good. Ridiculously overdramatic, with annoying strikethroughs all throughout. And the ending wasn't really any kind of ending at all. ...more

I loved, loved, loved this book. It's a little bit Hunger Games meets X-Men, so not the most original, but it totally worked for me. The writing is beautiful in a first person narrative, pulling the reader in emotionally from the beginning. I really loved the inner workings of Juliette's mind as her narrative effectively illustrated her dilema between insane and sane. A big fan of the love story, and I loved the age old idea that Juliette and Adam were meant for each other. I'm excited to discov ...more
