This was a reread for a book club. I read it some years ago, I don't remember when, but I didn't like it very much then. I didn't not like it, but it just wasn't one of my favorite Gaiman books.
I enjoyed it more this time, but not much more, until we had our book club discussion for the book. I've been hooked on Neil Gaiman ever since I read "American Gods." Here he creates another intriguing world just a bit "off" from the one we inhabit. Bod Owens is the coolest kid since Harry Potter. His adventures in the graveyard are a hoot and yet there is a wistfulness about him that tugs at the heartstrings. There is, however, some pretty scary stuff in here, so read it yourself before you read it with your kids.
