Charley Davidson is the Grim Reaper - which basically means she is a sparkly portal that ghosts cross through to get to the right plane of existence, she remembers the day she was born, she heals ultra-fast, and oh, yeah, she sees dead people! She is also really snarky, being haunted by a sexy something-or-other and trying to solve the murder of three lawyers that were all double-tapped the same night. I needed another fun mystery series with a great female lead, and I'm so glad I found this series. I love Charlie Davidson. She's tiny but mighty. In real life, I think Charlie could be one of my best friends. I love the interaction and banter between the characters. Darynda Jones is a master of witty repartee. I am really happy that I listened to this story as an audio book too. I like this narrator and she even managed to bring the ghosts to life. Can't wait to listen to the next one. ...more

Only one word is needed to describe this book. Awesome! I am so glad I read it, and also so mad cause now I can't wait for the next book. This book was hilarious, sexy, exciting, etc. Pretty much everything I am looking for in a romance/mystery book. Darynda Jones is definitely going on my favorite author list. ...more
