What Members Thought

 Marla
3.5 stars. Beginning of story sounded vaguely familiar, similar to Wicked Lovely and maybe Tithe. It wasn't a bad book, but just not great and the love story was a little too vague for my taste. Are they involved or not?!

Likes:
* Meghan Chase is a very believable teenager
* Queen Mab, since mab is my initials :D

This book started off a little too slowly to my liking, and the heroine remained bland at best during most of the story.

But I still gave it 3 stars, because I like the author's take on the faerie's world (I like my Fair Folk to be of the cunning kind, with oaths must be upheld, who play on words like they breathe just to trap you, and with Courts politics). I also found the idea of the 'other fae' interesting and logical: indeed, if the Fae exist thanks to human believing in them, then different

The beginning of the book dragged me in, with its almost gothic feel. And while there were some parts when they were in Nevernever that were interesting, for the most part my favorite parts of the book took place when they were in our world, or the Iron Kingdom.

I was surprised at how much I liked the main pairing, and how eager I was to read more in this world by the end of the book (esp. because I felt like the book slowed/bored me once she reached the Summer Court). I read it on a lark, and a

I started this book with LOW expectations that only got lower once I thought it was merely a story with origins somewhere between The Labyrinth, The Neverending Story and Alice in Wonderland. But the character development and a few unexpected twists took this book into uncharted and welcome territory.

It's well written with intriguing characters and the development of those characters is not only believable but had me rooting for them by the end of the book. My only qualm with the story really w

Nice story, characters and world. Quick read. Liked the contemporary feel, and the updating - people changing faery. Not what I was expecting (I really dont like this cover - made me think the book would be all wishy-washy too, and it wasnt!), will read more.

What a wonderful novel! So much to absorb in such a short amount of time. I adore stories about the fey and this, while a much more modern rendition, still holds true to the classics I grew up reading. I do have to admit though, that my favorite character was Grimalkin, the cait sith. But then, he reminded me so much of my own actual cat that I was helpless.

This is definitely a 4.5 star book. Maybe even 5 stars. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed that this book took you to another world - a very inventive world. I am such a sucker for series - I wish I had book #2 to read now. :)
