A joy to read from start to finish! Full review is a work-in-progress.

Emily Henry really doesn't disappoint. I liked this even better than Beach Read and People We Meet On Vacation. Maybe that was because in some ways I identified with Nora and Charlie even more than the other couples. I'm no book editor or literary agent, and I really don't think I'd like to try and survive living in NYC. But I am a book person. I could totally get it when Nora and Libby talked about their childhood and how much they loved the bookstore. (I still remember when the Hastings opened ...more

3.5 stars. I don't read a lot of rom-coms, but a few weeks ago, I decided I needed more lightness in my reading. This definitely fits the bill. I always have to have an extra dose of suspension of disbelief when I read books like these, and if I can do that I usually enjoy them. I found Nora relatable, but I think her need to protect Libby as a grown, married adult was a bit much. I would have liked to learn more about Libby. Her character seemed to lack some depth to me. Charlie's obsession wit ...more

Much like Beach Read, this was a mixture of general fiction and romance with a heavy emphasis on the character growth of the heroine. And I liked this a lot. I thought Nora and Charlie made a good pair and I enjoyed how their relationship went from bed buddies to something much more. And Charlie had a lot of character growth as well. This was well written and enjoyable overall.

4.25

I liked that this was much bigger than just the romance, getting into her relationship with her sister, their relationship with/memories of their mom, career trajectories, things like that. I thought the enemies-to-lovers scenario happened really suddenly so it felt almost like a forced trope
