TJR is an amazing author. The way she tells her stories sucks you in. I did feel like there was a lot of build up, but the ending was anticlimactic for me. If not for that, I would have given this book 5 stars.

TJR writes the most amazing books. So seeing that she had come out with new book I definitely had to read it.

This book is about the Mick and June Riva and their children. I did enjoy how the author told Mick and June's story in between their children growing up. Their children Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit should have grown up in a perfect family and lifestyle. After all their dad became quite famous. But with that fame came the downfall of his family life.

What TJR always can capture is the true feel

Nothing happens. And it's not the interesting kind of nothing happens book I like to read, it's the kind of... what was the point of this?

Sure, family things blah blah, but throught this novel there was no stake, no nothing! Just meh! Sure I liked the siblings and their interactions but... Again, everything felt flat and pointless and meh.

3.5 stars

I almost DNF'd at about 30%. I think I have to be in the right mood for Jenkins Reid's style - it's basically pages and pages of meandering through the characters' histories.

I did stick with it - after all, I wanted to know what happened at the party! And I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. I'm not sure I connected with any of the characters but ended up finding the story interesting. So sort of a luke-warm recommendation.

This read like an old Jackie Collins novel. The characters were not developed, and there was too much drama with it told like a fairy tale.
