I've read SGJ before - I liked his short stories for Tor.com, but his longer novel Zombie Sharks with Metal Teeth left me cold. I have more to try from this author, and this particular book, which I'm about a 1/3 of the way in, is kicking my ass so far.

I found my favorite passage from the first third, from Lewis' perspective - he's the poor little Injun with the white name who's married to the white girl and seemingly has to apologize for it. He's left the rez, after all.

The Body for a new generation. A horror story where social commentary is underlined in nearly every line.
Stephen Graham Jones's the Only Good Indians is a story about four friends, who all participated in the unsanctioned hunt of some elk as teens. Now, as older men themselves, the past seems to be coming up to haunt them.
