this felt like an early season 1 episode of gravity falls
This is overall an excellent horror book with a sense of creeping dread and individual moments of horror that are so impactful that I still think of them. I do feel like Kara and Simon make some really stupid choices. The biggest is entering the willow world to begin with. I wish Kingfisher had made them enter because they are chasing after the cat or some other external reason.
