This had a promising start but ended up being extremely bland yet heavy-handed (Mrs ELM, Nora SEED, come on...). It was like trying to force a bunch of insta-worthy inspirational quotes to have a proper storyline.

What a read this was. I see why it is being talked about in all sorts of book groups.

I love this topic and being able to read a well written book on it in a fiction sense was so captivating and enjoyable.

While some parts were slow and some a bit hokey, I really liked the concept of the book and the lessons it taught. I do not, however, think it’s an accurate depiction of depression.

“...a prison isn’t a place; it’s a perspective” is a unique perspective on life, and any story that uses a library or bookstore as a setting always calms me. Libraries are like old friends. I can sit and visit or explore new places.
