Strange but interesting world. It was a little slow for me, the world building was interesting but slow. Bigger punny fantasy fans than me would probably enjoy it much more.
Sort of reminds me of On a Pale Horse so even the uniqueness of the idea was familiar to me. Someone new exposed to the job of Death. But here, Death takes an apprentice rather than the newbie becoming Death (though ...more

I really liked the character, Mort...hope I see him again later in the series.
