I really, really wanted to give this book 5 stars - and it was a solid 5 until the last 20% of the book. Similar to other reviewers I felt the end to be rushed and new characters added that didn’t add anything to the story. Sunja, my favorite MC, was barely mentioned throughout the ending and her mother’s words to her in her final days just didn’t ring true. Therefore, this potential 5 star novel is a 4.5 rounded down. Maybe I’ll change my mind after I think about it a little more. 😬
