I got swept up in this sweet, funny fairy tale and thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. Rogerson did a great job of seamless world building, and the characters were wonderful. I especially liked the dichotomy of Silas, the demon.
Perhaps it was just me, but I got vibes of JKR's Monster Book of Monsters and a library version of River Song's affinity with the TARDIS. Nice!
And of course, the cover is gorgeous. ...more

I'm not saying this is Dramione (it isn't) but I am saying that if you like that pairing you should probably read this book. Feisty librarian with a snarky sorcerer? Hmm...
This one ticked all the right YA Fantasy boxes for me. It had just enough world building to make the characters and the romance believable. It's definitely going on my "romantasy for people who don't like the genre" list for me.

I just about read this book in one sitting. The story kept me engaged and wanting to read more to find out what would happen.
What I loved about this book was how it involved libraries. Not just your ordinary libraries but libraries that dealt with a different type of book, grimoires. Elisabeth had grown up in the library as she was orphaned at the doorstop very young. Her life was devoted to them and she had high hopes of becoming a warden. While, like any young person, she was a bit ...more

I really loved this, much better than the last book I read by this author. I think because that one was all about traveling from place to place, which can get boring, and this one had more of a story. I definitely like the way Margaret Rogerson writes, and will be watching for more of her books in the future.
I loved the characters in this, loved the ending, just really all around there wasn't much to dislike. ...more
