I really enjoyed this very different and unique take on the traditional mystery or missing person sort of novel. The story is structured around a true crime podcast about a missing girl. The story revolves around her family life, the death of her sister and her own going missing. Intertwined with the podcast sections, there are also sections told from Sadie's perspective. I ended up listening to this as an Audiobook and if you have the opportunity to do so, that is how this book needs to be experienced.
This is nothing like I expected when I went into this book. I am not one to really need or use trigger warnings, but I think this one could have used one. It would have been nice to know what to expect instead of the gut punch it delivers when you realize what part of the storyline entailed.
