Definitely a book that everyone can enjoy, no matter how young or old, and that will push you to reflect upon life, suffering, losing what's dear to you, and facing the truths you do not want to see.
I liked how "raw" this novel was, in its dealings with illness. While THAT illness is a theme that always creeps me out, here it was handled in a way that didn't make me turn away. Oh my. My heart has been broken into a million pieces.

Oh, dear... I was bawling my eyes out, and my sweet husband said "I don't think I want you to read that book..." Oh, yes, I might have not wanted to read it had I known what it was, but all I knew about it was the movie trailer, and that looked really interesting. This story was interesting, but it wasn't what the movie trailer made me think it was.
