What a cool book. I am not sure I can even explain what is going on: Patricia thinks she can fly and maybe even speak to birds (unless of course she is delusional), while Laurence has invented a one- second time machine. They are both outcasts at their school, so they start hanging out together. Years later they run into each other again when each of them is trying to save the world from certain doom. Despite its weirdness, this book is basically a love story - with many twists and turns.
