“Bravery doesn’t forgive stupidity. Always think. Think what’s possible.”

I have to admit, I was curious but cautious to start this one. I wanted it to be good -but I wasn't sure because it was a play and because....it's re-opening Harry Potter. And sometimes it's better to leave the story closed and leave those characters where and how you knew them.

But I took the chance. I finally took a deep breath and started - and I loved it! I absolutely LOVED it! I loved the struggle and the fumbles and t

I can't possibly give this a fair review due to extreme bias. I bought this when it was released (at midnight, naturally) and I've sat on it ever since, not counting the day I picked it up a few months after buying it. I got about 1/3 of the way through and stopped. I really didn't want to read about Harry Potter's midlife, ordinary struggles balancing work, family, and relating to his teenaged son. It took me quite some time to finish this, considering that it's a play and not such a long one at that. That being said - it felt a lot longer than it was aka it had its lengths. I heard that when you go see it you can actually split it in two days - seems to make sense.

I liked the middle part when the action was focused mostly on Albus and Scorpius and quite enjoyed their friendship, even the (view spoiler) That was actually my favour

While I enjoyed this new perspective on the Harry Potter family/word, it could have been so much more. I think that I would have preferred this in actual novel form, but this was good. It was also a very quick read, and I do see myself reading it again at some point. I did enjoy the character development of both characters new and old. I would LOVE to see the actual play. I do hope that it comes to Iowa City or somewhere close someday.
