In the long run, after hearing much said about this book, I expected it to be much worse than it turned out to be really. I really am a fan of a good time-travel caper, with the antics and twists that only come from those, when people decide to throw their hats into the ring about it, and I'm definitely still left with the want to see the play on stage, if/when I make it to London or it makes it to America.

Yes, I would have preferred a full novel. That said, it was wonderful to visit with Harry and friends again. It's also nice to see characters grow and change. Author J.K. Rowling has an intuitive grasp of the psychology behind Harry's actions and those of the other characters. That's what makes this ring true.

It took me until part two to muster up much sympathy for Albus, who seemed like he brought most of his problems on himself. I was unimpressed with Harry's big sin of yelling back at him what he said to his dad. Maybe words mean a lot more to this kid than actions.
But I bet most of that was because of reading instead of seeing this. I bet it would be a great production. ...more
