This is the only time I've binged read all the books in a series! I usually take a break between books as I need something new to read or I wait and prolong it - like with the Kate Daniels and Mercy Thompson series. But these were like candy, once I started...I couldn't stop.

They're great books and a fast read. The ending of this last book had a few logical issues that I stumbled over a bit because of my science background and I wasn't happy about (view spoiler)

08/11/2022: Reread on audiobook!
I never posted a review for this the first time I read it but after rereading it again I definitely have thoughts. This series is so captivating. Thinking about how everything falls into place at the end of this (almost) final book of the series makes me so giddy inside. This series was executed so perfectly. One of the things that I love most about this series is the clever way the author implements the different fairytale retelling aspects in the series. Cinder

OMG I loved this book. This might be my favorite book in the whole series. Marissa Meyers did not let us down in the ending of this series. I couldn't wait to see what would happen in the next chapter. I'm so happy to see the book and all the characters ended up but I'm sad it's all over with.

Of course I love Cinder and Kai and their story was so up and down. First Cinder kidnaps Kai and then he marries Queen Lavana which is upsetting. Scarlet and Winter face all kinds of dilemma's and so do th

This book could have been broken into two more installments, but I am glad it wasn't. I don't know that I could have waited much longer after reading Fairest and the first part of this. I would highly, highly recommend reading Fairest just before reading this. The rise of Levana as a power and everything that shaped her into who she is was a great lead-in to this finale.

I couldn't have asked for much more in a book to wrap everything up that came before, and it was clearly a LOT when you look a

A fun quick read. A unique take on retellings. I really appreciated the relationship between Jacin and Winter in this one. It was incredibly cliche & tropey, but for the type of fiction it is, I can see why it was so well received.
