Kaz Brekker, one of the main forces behind the Dregs gang, is hired to break into a seemingly impenetrable stronghold to retrieve a scientist making a drug that greatly increases Grisha power but kills them. Kaz recruits a group of five other teenagers to perform the heist. The story is told from the POV's of five of the people involved in the heist. I understand the hype for this book. What a wonderful world and story line this book had. The characters all seem so much older than they really are. I always had to make myself remember that these are all teenagers.

I really enjoyed Kaz. His character is so mysterious. His tough exterior makes me love his soft side so much more. I also enjoyed Inej. She has so much spunk that seems to be packed into a little body.

The seemingly impossible mission is what kept me turning page after page. Can't wa ...more

This book surprised me! I'm not a huge fan of most YA books and i was unsure of this one. However the art on the cover is just stunning and it made me curious. This is a story of a rag tag group of criminals with nothing to lose and everything against them. The characters are well developed and the writing is terrific. I found myself rooting for these guys and trying to figure out where the next twist in the story was going to come from. Cannot wait to read the next in the series. ...more
