I'm finding this one difficult to rate but I think it's more like a 2 and a half stars. I didn't hate it but it wasn't great. I found the story line to be predictable - I figured out 'the twist' almost immediately. Although it was very suspenseful, it did feel like a debut novel. I found a few issues in the writing itself. Yet, I did enjoy the reading experience - it was fast paced, an 'easy' and fast read. I wish it had been a little stronger but it wasn't a bad read. If you like this sort of b ...more

The last 10% was the best part of the book. The first 90% was so slow moving and kind of boring I had a difficult time getting through it.

Mia Dennett is kidnapped but instead of turning er over to the man who hired him the kidnapper, Colin Thatcher, takes off with Mia to a remote area of Minnesota. The story alternates between before and after the kidnapping and is told from Colin's perspective, Mia's mom and the detective on the case. The book was pretty slow for me and didn't have a lot of suspense. Except for Colin I also didn't find that the characters had a lot of depth. ...more
