An interesting story but one that didn't feel terribly original. The twists and turns didn't feel like much of a surprise as I think they were intended. But I did enjoy the story - Mia's struggle to be not Chloe. I also liked Eve's story, as we get to know her struggle to be a wife and a mother but also try to find her own self.

I'm finding this one difficult to rate but I think it's more like a 2 and a half stars. I didn't hate it but it wasn't great. I found the story line to be predictable - I figured out 'the twist' almost immediately. Although it was very suspenseful, it did feel like a debut novel. I found a few issues in the writing itself. Yet, I did enjoy the reading experience - it was fast paced, an 'easy' and fast read. I wish it had been a little stronger but it wasn't a bad read. If you like this sort of b

A lot of books claim to be like Gone Girl, which I enjoyed, but few actually are. This one was a pleasant and quick read. It had a similar style to Gone Girl (without even mentioning the title itself). I look forward to more books from this author.
Mia Dennett is kidnapped but instead of turning er over to the man who hired him the kidnapper, Colin Thatcher, takes off with Mia to a remote area of Minnesota. The story alternates between before and after the kidnapping and is told from Colin's perspective, Mia's mom and the detective on the case. The book was pretty slow for me and didn't have a lot of suspense. Except for Colin I also didn't find that the characters had a lot of depth.
