I'm not sure what I can add to this book that I didn't say when I first read it. A Court of Thorns and Roses is one of those books I go to when I know I want something I'm going to love. I know what is going to happen in the end, I know how the story goes and I know the feelings it is going to give me. This book is one of the perfect examples of why I love re-reading books. Falling back into the world was so wonderfully familiar and it did not disappoint.

The great thing was, as this was a re-rea

Feyre works hard to keep her disabled father and two older sisters fed and taken care of. She sets snares and uses her archery skills to get animals they can eat. She sells the skins in town, for what meager coins she can get. And she tries to hide the money from the sister that is most likely to spend it on new clothes she doesn't need. While Feyre doesn't long for the days when the family lived in their mansion, she does fondly remember painting throughout the cottage. Feyre has had to grow up ...more

Feyre hunts to supports her sisters and injured father. One day she kills a wolf which she soon finds out was really a fairy. The fairy Tamlin takes Feyre off to his estate in exchange for her taking a fairy life. The first half of the book is very slow with Feyre mainly trying to get back to the human lands. Events pick up in the second half of the book and it interested me enough that I plan on continuing the series.

It has been a long drought for me and YA fantasies... but this was a phenomenal reintroduction!

Sarah Maas’ writing style is go, go, go. There was never a dull moment in the whole book. Even when there wasn’t anything really happening! Great story, great writing. Loved it and cant wait to start book 2!!!
