A shocking read that only covers about 3 days in the life of some of the first female police officers in Atlanta, Georgia. Racism, sexism, violence - so much of this story is hard to read but good to remember.
In the midst of all of this is a great mystery. One that kept me guessing - as someone is killing police officers in Atlanta. No one seems to have tied them together until small little things start popping out to a few of the new officers start getting the details.

I normally love Karin Slaughter, but perhaps I found this book a little too close to the bone. I just couldn't bear the prejudice, racism, sexism and bullying that underpinned this whole story and it actually ruined the enjoyment of it for me. There is no doubt the end was exciting and I am so glad that Maggie got her own back against her pig of an uncle, but I found myself really disturbed by this book.
