I know this book is loved by many but I found it extremely boring. Some of the fault could be put on the audiobook narrator. He wasn't bad it's just that he had a very soft and soothing voice which made me sleepy. I haven't seen the movie so I'm not sure how it compares. But for me it barely made a 2 star rating.

Uhm.
Wow.
Initially I wasn't terribly impressed by McCarthy's incomplete sentences or the lack of quotation marks to indicate dialogue. It's not like I require quotations to show me where conversation is taking place... but I'm a Virgo and I like structure and order and all that bullshit... and OMG you'll never believe it, but apparently there's little to no structure or order in a post-apocalypse setting, so hallelujah to McCarthy for testing my literary boundaries! His characters aren't writers. ...more

This wasn’t horrible and I mostly enjoyed it, but there were some things that I had some glaring problems with. Overall, it’s a haunting story of survival in a post apocalyptic world and the things a parent will suffer in order for their child to survive.
