This one was really colorful, but a bit hard to follow at times.
I liked the system of worldwide wizards and their diplomacy issues and I thought Rover's perspective as a dog was pretty well communicated. But by the end, I'm still not sure why (view spoiler) .
I get that because he's a dog, there are some lessons that he's not going to be able to learn, and apparently Psalmatos learns that too: but you wouldn't know that from the abrupt ending. ...more

It's a fun tale about a dog that upsets a wizard and gets turned into a toy...and then goes on many adventures to 1) get back home and 2) to get changed back into himself again. It's very cute. I suggest reading it with a child.
