In my review of The Hell You Say I said I considered it the best installment in the Adrien English series. And I meant it. It was better than the previous two books. But Death of a Pirate King? It beats them all. THIS is the best book in the series.

Another great Adrien English mystery!!
I love this series. The mysteries always keep me guessing till the end and are concluded in a very satisfying way. I really like the main character, Adrien English. He has this peculiar mix of vulnerability and strength which is both endearing and amusing, but he is also very self aware and has real insight into his emotions and his actions. His inner thoughts and commentary about the situations that he finds himself in add a richness to the story.
