Normally I am a romance fan. Before I read m/m romance, I read historical, new adult, and paranormal romance. What I didn't read was mystery novels. Though there is definitely an interest between Adrien English and detective Jake Riordan, it is a such a slow build up that it is almost non-existent. The mystery portion of the book has made me a fan of mystery in m/m romance and gay fiction. Adrien is a courageous but not particularly strong character. There are characters you fall for from the beginning, as well as there are characters you dislike at first sight. Adrien English is one of those characters I couldn’t avoid loving from the first time he turns up. I don’t know why. Maybe it is because he seems shy and sweet, maybe it is because of his cripple heart condition (both physical and emotional). I just like him.

Not my favorite in the series, but if you stick it out, this will most assuredly become of the favorite series you will ever read.
