This was a sweet story of paranormal found family, something TJ Klune does very well. Interesting, fun characters, lovely scene-setting and a subtle romance. This story read a bit young to me, and would definitely work for a teen audience; even though the two main adult characters are older, they could definitely relate to the "children" and their experiences.

What a pleasant surprise! I haven’t read this author since the writing style on display in his first book (Bear, Otter, and the Kid) turned me off completely. Tedious, is how I described it in my notes. But this is a totally different animal. Sweet and charming. And he writes the children exceptionally well (which was *not* the case for the Kid).
