Holy Crap this book was awesome. Is there going to be a Robot with a Docking option? Just the creature features will keep me coming back for more of this authors work. John Charming was hilarious and very witty. I liked the fast-paced plot.

**3.5 stars**

I started Charming several months ago and stopped it halfway through. I was enjoying the narration by Roger Wayne tremendously but for some reason, the book wasn't clicking with me. There was just too much info dumping and I didn't get why John was so into Sig. But once I picked it up again, I enjoyed the latter half a lot and I'm looking forward to the 2nd book in the series.

I don't know what did it. Maybe that I stopped comparing it to the Iron Druid Chronicles - there are a lot o

This is again one of those between 3 and 4. I'm leaning toward 3 stars at the moment.

I like the characters, the story and the world. The concept of Pax Arcana keeping normal people from seeing supernatural happenings and the Knights Templar being enforcers of that is cool.

Here's where I get a little down on the book. The writing at time seemed to be a bit labored. The plot seemed to drag

CHARMING was an interesting blend of urban fantasy, werewolves, and fairy tales. Though this book got off to a slow start, I started to really enjoy it right around 40%. John Charming was a witty protagonist reminiscent of Kevin Hearne's Atticus O'Sullivan. He comes from a long line of Charmings, defenders against the paranormal, but he is considered an outcast because his mother was attacked by a werewolf while she was pregnant and now John carries the were taint even though he doesn't shift. I won this book through first reads and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It moved along smoothly and quickly, never really dragging. I enjoyed the characters too. I think the thing I found most surprising was that I was expecting more of a chick-lit urban fantasy story, but it was far less chick-lit - and for me that is a good thing:)
I will definitely read more by this author in the future.
