great twists and developements with Al. A little disapointed that they haven't learned who killed Kisten. Bis was a nice surprise and look forward to more of him. this book had more interaction with Glenn and with Rachel's Mom. the events leading up to Halloween were funny, and so was the roller skating with Marshall and Trent. Rachel Morgan is a witch but seems to be able to call demons. The demon Algaliarept is trying to kill her for sending him to prison. She has a vampire friend who wants to sleep with her. Pixies in her garden who guard her house. But she still gets in trouble with trying to save people. Especially her mom. She just wants to figure out how to keep everyone alive including herself.

This series can be hit or miss for me. I love the world that Harrison has built and there are some excellent secondary characters. Really, there's so much that I do like about it that it should be one of my absolute favorite series. But I cannot stand the Rachel/Ivy dynamic. It was a big part of the last book, so much so that I almost couldn't finish it so I went into this one with some trepidation.
