Highly anticipated books like this always scare me. What happens if the author can’t take the pressure of writing such an anticipated story and it falls flat? What if it doesn’t go the way I WANT it to go? There are no guarantees and I was both extremely excited and extremely scared to start reading.

Another fear of mine was the fact that knowing this book had the big Ghost reveal, this story would be centered around the Psy. In the past, the psy-only books have not been my favorites. They la

ETA 6/7/13: Bought it & read it anyway. I have no self-control when it comes to Singh. Am I still pissed about that disappointing half-assed anticlimactic excuse for a blurb reveal? Of course. But not once did I say my disappointment would cause me to turn my back on Singh, because I love her books to pieces. I'm very happy with HoO.

ETA: Let me make myself clear: I am not pissed off that Singh decide to keep the hero/ine of HoO in her blurb a secret. I am however very angry that she made this bi

I am so blown away by what Nalini has been able to accomplish with Heart of Obsidian!

I have been intrigued by Kaleb for a long time, but have always been afraid that I would have a hard time believing in him as a hero. I shouldn't have worried, because Nalini Singh once again has written an amazing addition to this awesome series, one that might even be her best work yet!

Kaleb had everything to be the series biggest villain, but it's instead the series' most complicated character to date. He was

This is such a good book! Such a perfect hero! This and the next book are the best of the series for me.

Nalini Singh must have been on the really good sh*t when she wrote them. That they’re so far into the series makes me sad because many won’t get to them. But the setup required is just so worth it. Everything builds to a crescendo in these two books.

Sadly, I haven’t gelled with the rest of the books after these two but I reread these every year. All time faves!

This was unexpected. Looking back, I semi-remember the hype regarding the mystery couple but I went into this blind. Definitely questioned my reading abilities once I started to realize who the book was about. I went back to the blurb to see if I was missing something - only to find it completely useless. It took me about half the book to get used to the idea and by the end, I was in love. The two deleted scenes at the end made my heart happy :)

Finally, the Ghost is revealed. The events in this

Heart of Obsidian answers many of the questions that have floated throughout this series. Very good answers that verified many of the hints given previously.

***This book will not stand alone, you need to read the previous eleven books to understand much of what happens in this twelfth part of the Psy/Changeling Series.***
