Review to come much later, as I respect Ms. Singh's wish to keep the hero and heroine of this book a mystery for now and there's no way I can write anything without giving away who they are.
All I'm going to say at the moment is, I absolutely loved this book and it's a true keeper. :)

How does one review a book such as this without giving away anything? Spoiler tags! I've broken my tags into parts. Each part reveals a bit more than the one before it. Fret not, I've noted before each tag just what you'll find when you open your pressie. Read those you wish and skip the others. But, whatever you do ... READ THIS BOOK!

While I was happy to get to know Kaleb, as he's been such a compelling, mysterious character for many books now... I was little disappointed.
Firstly, I am just never a fan of characters suddenly having god-like superpowers. It flattens their characters immensely. I feel this way about Sienna, and I now feel this way about Kaleb (this began in the previous book, honestly, when he was revealed to be a double cardinal). It also flattens and arc they have, because it is hard to believe anything real ...more

Just some random thoughts on this one, not a full review...
Nalini Singh turned Kaleb, the potentially most evil, most dangerous person in the Psy world into a sympathetic hero to love. Not an easy feat. You'll feel for him.
I guess I should have realized it before, but Kaleb is actually very young for being so influential and powerful. His age is emphasized in this book.
Sahara is a stubborn character, but in a good way. She resolutely refuses to g ...more

I loved the majority of this book, so much happened and long awaited secrets were finally unravelled along with a couple of surprises. I had no idea of the pairing going in and was pleasantly surprised, also by the combination.
The two characters worked really well together, they have a past that added more than depth to their characters - I was quickly invested in them and their journey was a highly emotional one. Things have really changed now an the conclusion has opened up a lot of avenues t ...more

I don't know if there are any words to truly convey how amazing this book is. In the 11 previous books, the many layers within the three groups have been shown on many levels. The political strife began as an underlying tone, but quickly gained momentum. This book just blows the whole political structure to h*ll with such an unexpected method, as well as unexpected characters. I absolutely love this series...but of all the books I've read so far, this one just gutted me! It was so powerful and h

Kudos to any author who can successfully leash a villainous character, harness his world-ending abilities for good, and elicit genuine sympathy for him by revealing a truly unique and horrific childhood.
Okay, all that sounds rather corny and generally off-putting, but I swear, it’s not. This long-awaited novel’s political backdrop is a game-changer. Be prepared for shock and awe. And the real identity of The Ghost.

LOVED IT!! Can't believe we finally got Kaleb's story... and it was fantastic (as all of Singh 's books are). So many questions were answered, and situations resolved… but I still find myself wanting the next in the series just as much :)! I just saw on FB that it'll be about Vasic, super exciting!
