Magic Mourns on Books On Track

A short story that picks up right after the previous book left off, with Kate recuperating from her wounds, and Andrea standing in for her at work, where she gets a phone call by a man named Teddy-Jo.

She heads out to investigate the case that seems to also involve a shifter, only to find that the shifter in question is Raphael, whom she'd been avoiding.

Interesting novella about Andrea and Rafael. Andrea takes a call when Kate is out on medical leave from the Guild after injuries sustained in Magic Bleeds. (view spoiler) It was great to see how Andrea and Rafael got together, but I missed Kate and Curran.

I liked this short story about Andrea and Rafael. Being that they are side characters in the Kate Daniels series, their stories won't always get told in the main series. Enter novellas and we get these important side stories filled in. I like the tension between Andrea and Rafael, and am happy to see their relationship played out the way it did. ...more
