There are no words to explain what I thought of this book... well actually there are. This was the most unique, strange, weird and just out-there book I have read, if not in a while, then ever! An excellent debut novel that's a delicious hybrid of magic, bloodthirsty paranormal creatures, and steampunk. This is the story of Tish, magically transported to another world by a ruby locket. She's greeted by the gorgeous Criminy Stain, a Circus Master and Bludman (a type of born vampire), who bespelled the locket to bring his true love to him. Before long the locket is stolen by an evil man who is trying to rid the world of Bluds, and Tish and Criminy embark on a dangerous voyage to steal it ...more

I don't usually read these types of steam punk books, if that's what you call them. So when I saw this book at the library, i figured that I would give it a try... and found I liked it. It is very well written, great story... and I got goosebumps when i read the last chapter! Can't wait to read the next book! ...more
