Why do I keep hoping that Ms. Hamilton will turn this series around. I loved the Anita Black books but the latest ones have just been worthless for me. IF you have a need to keep up with the series I would recommend borrowing from your library. At only 158 pages, and this hardcover costing $16.95 there are much better uses for your money! This book reminds me of Micah, which I also hated as a comparison. Just my 2 cents worth.

Unfortunately, to me the story really seemed pointless. Oh well. I checked it out from the library, so no money lost. Think positive ;)

Anita is back in this rather short novel. Her supporting cast included Micah, Nathanial and Jason, but the emphasis was more on her job rather than cavorting with the boys. It felt more like a novella (larger print, short page count) but was a nice story. It was a little predictable (I felt), but I enjoyed Ms. Hamilton's short article at the end a lot. While this series is no longer in my top favorites, I still enjoy it, and will keep reading.

Continuing to read the Anita Blake books is like indulging in a high calorie, over processed, chemically laden desert. It doesn't taste very good, and is totally not worth the calories, and yet you eat the whole thing anyway.

Wow I'm impressed, she only had sex one time in this book! However, it is pretty short book.
