I was ready to be disappointed with the book because of the limited number of pages but I was so wrong. It was still action packed and focused around Anita's occupation. I enjoyed returning to her line of work and reading about how powerful she has become. This was a little taste of how Anita is warming up to all of the men she has aquired, her feelings about the ardeur, and a reminder of how kick ass Anita can be. I think I'm done with Anita. I thought this one would never end...which is funny because it was so short.

Anita is back in this rather short novel. Her supporting cast included Micah, Nathanial and Jason, but the emphasis was more on her job rather than cavorting with the boys. It felt more like a novella (larger print, short page count) but was a nice story. It was a little predictable (I felt), but I enjoyed Ms. Hamilton's short article at the end a lot. While this series is no longer in my top favorites, I still enjoy it, and will keep reading.

Ohh. I read this so fast i didn't get a chance to savor it. I liked it. It was like a quicky. What I like best about this book is anita does less of the navel gazing and woe is me, poor little sucubus thing and just went with it. I like that better. Get on with it and do like the army--be all you can be.

I was trying to read several books at one time and I was trying to give them all equal time... then this book caught me and I spent the afternoon and early evening finishing it. The books was great and the author's commentary at the end was good too.

Continuing to read the Anita Blake books is like indulging in a high calorie, over processed, chemically laden desert. It doesn't taste very good, and is totally not worth the calories, and yet you eat the whole thing anyway.
