Rating reflects my original 2007 opinion

Jean Claude does make an appearance in this one but he's a side story not the main event. The ma petite name plays throughout their conversations. Anita is a detective animator slaying bad guys first and foremost in this one. She's 24 a little hard bitten for 24 but it makes it interesting. We know life has not been easy for her up to this point. We get glimpses of her past and idea of why she's so jaded. Before the series went to hell in a handbasket. It had an excellent plot about a necromancer named Anita Blake. She is bad-ass, celibate, and has a no nonsense personality. It seems that Jean-Claude has more troubles, and has sought out Anita to root out the problem. Thank the gods no metaphysics have came into play yet.
