This was my 1st Annie Nicholas book, but I snatched up the 2nd in the Angler series "Catch", as soon as I finished Bait.
I wasn't expecting much, but I was happily surprised to find that this was top-notch writing for this genre. I won't summarize the entire book as others have done here, but this is a PNR/urban fantasy with lots of hunky, hot vamps and lots of mean vamps, with a spunky, gorgeous heroine leading the way through an action-packed romp.

Connie, hunts vampires, but not in the traditional sense. She doesn't do the actual slaying, she works on a team and her job is bait. She's an attractive little blonde who is sent out to clubs in the search of vampires. Once she makes contact with her target she lures them some place private, and that is when the "action" happens. And by action I mean her team sweeps in takes over. But this time things don't go as planed.
I really enjoyed this book, looking forward to reading the next book.

3.5*
This was actually pretty good for a freebie. I liked the plot and the different directions it took. I wish Connie had cried a little less, but she also did a few bad-ass things I liked. Rurik was a likeable hero even if I didn't like him at first. He redeems himself quickly. This is the first in a series, but wraps up nicely with no cliffhanger. I would definitely recommend for vampire fans. ...more
