What I love about Alex Verus is that he's no goody-two-shoes. He can be downright ruthless and when cornered he kills without hesitation. And this book proved it once again. The way he got rid of his enemies at the end was honestly a thing of beauty, the plan was so well-calculated and cold that all I could do was applaud. And I loved his final chat with Lee, Alex's very pointed reminder that Lee was no better than him, no matter what Lee was trying to tell himself. That was very satisfying.
