Despite the fact that this book needed an editor to point out places where the character gets up from a chair twice in the same paragraph without ever sitting down again or when he eats 3 breakfasts at three different places while seeing a doctor at the last minute between the last two (er, what time is breakfast at the last place?) without ever even mentioning he was full... Okay I'm going to pause there and add a period because even though that isn't a complete sentence, it's too dang long.

Harry you call your self a gentlemen but some of the thoughts you have about every female that goes under your eye isn't always gentlemanly like. Loving the series but Harry I do hope you grow...

First paragraph:
The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault.
Great opening line for the sixth installment of the Dresden Files. Here, Harry picks up a new pet, discovers a family member, and takes on Mavra of the Red Court. These were the best elements of this book, particularly Harry's strike team of the assassin Kincaid, his old mentor Ebenezer, and the now less-annoying Lt. Murphy.
However, I didn't enjoy as much the main storyline of the book. Here, Harry joins the set of a porn film in ...more

I asked dear Harry Dresden to pull me out of my reading slump, and what did he do?
He kept me up all night.
Blood Rites was just what I needed. A page-turner of a book, it’s filled with the humor and suspense I’ve come to expect from the Dresden Files. Within the first few pages, incendiary poo and a psychotic puppy ensured my amusement. By the end of the story, I’d learned a lot more about Harry and the secrets surrounding him--and in the harsh light of morning I only vaguely regret losing slee ...more

I'm continuing my second read/audiobook revisit of the Dresden Files. This one was one I wasn't sure I'd enjoy revisiting, but really did. It ends up being a fairly pivotal point in the series as Harry discovers some things. The story was solid and entertaining.

Harry and Thomas. And Mouse. Ha! Those were the best parts of the book, hands down. I just adore Harry's relationship with Thomas, their genuine affection for each other, they're so alike. Also, I'm very interested in learning more about Murphy's family.

Yay, the introduction of Mouse! :) I loved learning more about both Thomas and Murphy. I thought the "adult film" plot was interesting and hilarious at different turns. Solid entry in a solid series.

Harry does a favor for his vampire ally, Thomas. I liked the temple puppy and Harry dodging curses.
