I should have known I'd fall in love with this series, I love Vampire Academy. Now I have to qualify, it isn't Twilight, but yesterday, as I read the sad parts of Book 3, my heart ripped and I fell into a morass that reminded me of my reaction to reading New Moon. The first book, Succubus Blues, was good, fine, OK. This series definitely takes its time to draw you in. It is hard at first to relate to a succubus from Hell. None the less, and to my surprise actually, it does suck you in to the poi ...more

Succubus Heat - Richelle Mead -2009

Georgina has been in a funk -stuck in a neverending rut and is really starting to become a downer and annoy all her immortal friends. Made to go and see a therapist by her John Cusack lookalike boss - Jerome after separating from Writer boyfriend Seth , she does the one thing Jerome tells her not to do- what does a succubus do best ? -You guessed it ,sleep with the poor guy. Now she has Jerome in an uproar , so Jerome has come up with a little plan to get Georg

I adore this series, and the gloom and doom I felt after Succubus Dreams was erased by this latest installment. That's not to say that it wasn't without it's emotional ups and downs, but my faith in the characters was restored. I thought the story line was great and had lots of twists and turns (although, unfortunately I knew one critical piece due to having read it in a supposedly non-spoiler thread). I'm optimistic for the Succubus Shadows and what it will bring Georgina, I'm just sad we have ...more

As always with this series, I loved the dynamics between Georgina and her immortal, and mortal friends. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Carter's interest in Georgina is... assuming we ever find out! Like the previous GK books, this had a good mixture of the paranormal mystery, romance, and character interaction and building. The relationship between Seth and Georgina is more bitter-sweet than ever, and I don't see now how it can be a 'happily ever after' between them now. But then, maybe ...more

I like Georgina. I like the supporting cast of characters. I enjoy the mysteries she gets herself wrapped up in. But from his introduction, Seth has felt so flat to me. Therefore, this book, riddled in Seth-angst and lacking in any humor, wasn't as satisfying as it could've been. I hope in the next book, Georgina comes back to herself somewhat. ...more

Georgina loses her powers which frees her up to potentially have close interactions with her ex, Seth, without draining years from his life. Saw 1/2 of the villain-ship from the beginning.
